A little cooler to start the day today. A few new birds into the banding area but very few. If it had not been for a small flock of kinglets moving through late in the morning it would have been very slim pickings. However with the kinglets ended up with a decent day.
John D. had a ASY OROR when he got out of his truck beside my van. This is very early.

Selkirk’s top 10
A little more unsettled weather during the day than that experienced yesterday, with variable cloud and less wind. A light ground frost made opening the nets moderately unpleasant. A GHOW and WITU were heard calling while opening the nets, along with Ruthven’s first WIWR of the season. Seemingly fewer birds around but the first BARS made an appearance. Also new were 2 Northern Map Turtles (COSEWIC special concern) basking alongside the river and American Toads have started calling.
